What play are you calling next?

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you

but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?“

‭‭Micah 6:8 ESV

A Defining Moment

Biblical Manhood can be a broad topic. However, during MD5 we defined Biblical manhood as a man who will R.A.L.I.

  • Rejects passivity. A man who stops drifting and becomes a man of action.

  • Accepts responsibility. A man with intentionality accepting personal responsibility for a will to obey, a work to do, and a woman to love.

  • Leads courageously. Courageously lead our families, church, and communities for the benefit of others.

  • Invests eternally. Both in others and the kingdom of God to store up real treasures in heaven.

Create & Cultivate

God designed man to follow His example and to LEAD, specifically by creating and cultivating. Whatever we create—a marriage, family, ministry, business, friendship, etc.—God expects us to cultivate what we have created so that it may develop, grow, mature, and expand.

In John 15, Jesus tells us that He is the vine and we are the branches. Apart from Him we can do nothing.

The Path to Obedience

The Truth is that we can try all we want in our own strength but we will continue to struggle and fail until we connect with our power source - Jesus. Then we’ll be able to RALI … to obey His commands.

After King Solomon tried everything under the sun, he concluded the following.

"The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13

Fear God and keep His commandments … seems simple enough … then life happens.

DON’T GIVE UP MEN!!

We cannot just play defense in life (reacting when we sin)—we must also play offense (practicing the Spiritual Disciplines in conjunction with a Life Plan). It’s the small acts of obedience repeated over time that will yield a harvest!

You are the QB … What offensive play are you calling next?
